You know a lot of times we are asked at the shows what is the difference between our natural soap and store bought or Commercial “natural” soap.
With brand-name soap companies spending millions each year on misleading advertising, it’s understandable why a consumer may question. Typical store bought or “commercial” soaps that may be labeled as “natural” are actually detergents that include chemical hardeners, foaming agents and artificial fragrances.
The word “natural” does not come with a set of quality standards or restrictive elements to it so as consumers, we are responsible for understanding what we put in and on our bodies and the best way to do this is by reading the labels and asking questions. I tell people often to not put on your body what you won’t put in your mouth.
And it’s not only big-brand store-bought soaps that can be misleading. Artificial fragrances are being put in a large amount of handmade soaps as well so make no mistake, you must ask questions. A great way to know you are getting the real deal is to ask what method the soap maker uses to make their soap, what ingredients they use and what they use to scent their soaps.
We at Dennis Creek Farms are proud to give you a list of ingredients in our soaps. We will also describe the process we use to you and we love talking soap making!
Our ingredients are Honey, Beeswax, Palm oil, Coconut oil, Olive oil, Castor oil, and Canola oil. Each of these items were chosen for particular properties they bring to our soaps. Next time you see us, ask about our soap process if you are interested.
That being said, I am going to put select soaps on sale this month! I am also going to put our Sampler set on sale so you can try a variety of our products! Head on over to our homepage at www.denniscreekfarms.com to see the monthly specials!!
